Long Melford: Police car attacked in village

A POLICE car had four of its windows smashed after officers briefly left the vehicle to attend an emergency in a Suffolk village.

The attack happened in Chadburn Road, Long Melford, between 7.20pm and 8pm on Friday night.

Police were attending an address nearby after concerns were raised about the safety of a local resident. This was resolved, but when officers returned to the vehicle they found it’s windscreen and three other windows had been smashed
