Part of the A14 has re-opened after a lorry towing a trailer with a ride-on lawnmower on top crashed near Stowmarket this morning (August 18).

The crash saw the lorry “fishtail” before the lawnmower behind it careered into the back of the cab. Thankfully no one was injured during the crash, which happened at around 10am this morning.

Both lanes closed in the westbound direction while police sorted recovery and clean-up. A significant amount of fluid, thought to be fuel or oil, spilled onto the road. The crash happened between junction 50 and junction 49.

Motorists were told to expect delays in the area, with major hold-ups throughout Stowmarket as lorries and traffic poured off the A14.As of 12 noon, the road was expected to remain closed for several hours but has now re-opened.
