AN operation designed to co-ordinate lorries which cannot get into the Port of Felixstowe in bad weather has been lifted.

Suffolk Police launched Operation Stack at 3pm yesterday due to high winds and diverted lorries from the A14 to the old A45.

The system, which was created to ease congestion when weather makes it too dangerous for quayside cranes to unload ships, was lifted last night.
