A man in his 40s has been seriously injured after a lorry has tipped over.

Emergency services were called shortly before 2.30pm to Main Road in Lower Somersham, after an HGV tipped over.

A police spokesman said the road has been closed while officers and paramedics are at the scene.

The driver, believed to be in his 40s, is being treated by East of England Ambulance Service paramedics.

A spokesman for the service said: “An ambulance crew and the East Anglian Air Ambulance were dispatched and treated a man believed to be in his 40s for a pelvis injury before air lifting him to the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital for further treatment.

“His injuries are thought to be serious but not life-threatening.”
