A LORRY driver was taken to hospital this afternoon after his vehicle overturned on the A14, shortly before rush hour.
The accident happened at about 4pm on the westbound slip road at Woolpit, near Bury St Edmunds.
The male casualty was conveyed to the West Suffolk hospital with head and back injuries.
He was conscious at the scene and an ambulance spokeswoman said his injuries were not believed to be life threatening.
βHe was conveyed by paramedics on a spinal board as a precautionary measure, but it is not thought his injuries are life threatening.β
Police officers had been at the scene waiting for the recovery vehicle to arrive. The lorry was on the grass verge at the side of the carriageway before it was recovered at about 7pm.
