A lorry shed up to four tonnes of grain in Bury St Edmunds on Saturday, causing disruption for three hours along one of the town’s main routes.
The single-vehicle incident involving an articulated Volvo lorry in Cullum Road took place “near a Greene King depot” at around 9.30am on Saturday, a Suffolk Constabulary spokesman said.
The inside lane was closed to traffic and police diverted motorists before the road reopened fully at 12.30pm.
A Suffolk Constabulary spokesman said: “No-one was hurt and no cars were damaged. The incident took place about half way up Cullum Road, near a Greene King depot.
“Around three to four tonnes of grain spilled on to the road.”
Recovery services had removed the grain by 12.30pm.
A Greene King spokesman was contacted on Saturday but had not responded by Sunday lunchtime.
