Appeal for witnesses following collision

An 11-year-old girl has been accosted in Lower Somersham and police are appealing for help in tracing the man involved.

The girl was riding her bike along a footpath off Mill Lane between 5pm and 6pm on Thursday when she stopped near a bend and a man, who was sat on the path, beckoned her over. He then spoke to her inappropriately, she rode off.

The man is described as white, between 50 and 60-years-old, bald and was wearing a grey long-sleeved top and trousers, both of which were tatty and torn. He had a translucent bag with him containing tablet boxes. His speech was slurred.

Officers want to speak to anyone who was in the area at the time and may have seen the man or has any information about this incident.
