A SUFFOLK woman whose former partner was banned by a court from contacting her received 1,500 calls from his mobile phone, a court has heard.

Glen Houghton was made the subject of a restraining order prohibiting him from contacting Theresa Gee in February last year after he appeared in court for dangerous driving following an incident involving Miss Gee.

At Ipswich Crown Court, Houghton, 33, of Hadleigh Drive, Lowestoft, admitted two offences of breaching a restraining order and breaching a suspended prison sentence and was given a 14-month prison sentence suspended for two years and ordered to do 200 hours’ unpaid work in the community.

Sentencing him, Judge Rupert Overbury told Houghton that if he breached the restraining order again the court would have no option but to jail him.

Steven Dyble, for Houghton, said his client had been in a relationship with Miss Gee for 14 years and they had three children.

Mr Dyble said that in addition to the calls made by Houghton to Miss Gee police found she had made 159 calls to him.
