A male body has been recovered from the North Sea off Lowestoft by a crew transfer vessel working on one of the wind farms.

The body is believed to have been found by the crew of the Alicat work boat the Dalby Aire.

Lowestoft RNLI lifeboat was on standby to help retrieve the body from the sea at about 3.30pm but the crew of the work boat managed to recover it and return to port.

A Suffolk Constabulary spokesman said: “Police are looking to identify a male body which was found by Her Majesty’s Coastguard near the wind farm off Lowestoft shortly after 3.30pm on Wednesday September 10.

“The body has been taken to James Paget Hospital where officers will also look to ascertain the events leading up to the death.”
