A 38-year-old man will appear in court this morning in connection with an incident in Lowestoft where a woman was sprayed in the face with a corrosive substance.
Police were called at 8.20am on Thursday to London Road South in the town, when it was reported a woman had suffered serious facial injuries.
Leon Thompson, 38, of Alma Road, Lowestoft, was arrested on Thursday in relation to the incident. Police announced last night that he has been charged with throwing a corrosive fluid with intent to disfigure and cause grievous bodily harm.
He is due to appear at South East Suffolk Magistrates’ Court in Ipswich this morning.
A 25-year-old man who was arrested in Lowestoft yesterday for conspiracy to commit grievous bodily harm remains was last night continuing to be questioned.
