Jason Grimes of Whapload Road was arrested on June 28 following a month-long surveillance operation by police. Officers witnessed drug exchanges on May 30 and June 27, where he was then arrested and charged with three counts of supplying heroin.

He pleaded guilty in July at Ipswich Crown Court, and was sentenced on Monday.

PC Alexander Haverson from Suffolk police said: “We are committed to tackling the supply of class A drugs into the town and will continue to act upon the intelligence that members of the public give us to help remove drugs from our communities.”

He added: “This was a detailed investigation and I’m proud of the team who were dedicated, often working extended shifts, to capture Grimes’ criminality that led to securing this positive result.”
