A TEENAGER was attacked by thieves and had his bag stolen in a Lowestoft alleyway, police have confirmed.

A police spokesman said the 17-year-old was walking down Katwijk Way, towards St Peter’s Court, and into an alleyway that runs from Queens Road into Clarence Road yesterday between 6.30pm and 7pm.

As he walked along the alleyway he was struck and knocked to the ground. Moments later he realised his blue Adidas satchel-type bag – containing cash, tobacco and personal items, including documents – was missing.

He walked to a friends home and police were contacted. He was checked over by ambulance personnel but did not require any further medical treatment.

Police are asking anyone who may have been in this area around this time yesterday to come forward if you saw anything suspicious and are asking anyone with information about who took the bag, or know where it is now, to call Lowestoft CID on 101 or Crimestoppers, anonymously if required, on 0800 555 111.
