Search and rescue teams have recovered a boat from the sea off Lowestoft.
The vessel was towed to shore by a lifeboat crew at about 7pm last night.
The water rescue unit from Suffolk Fire and Rescue Service helped the police and the coastguard to bring the white boat on to Lowestoft’s south beach, near to the Cefas building.
The man was pulled from the water by the Lowestoft lifeboat crew but, despite efforts to revive him, was pronounced dead at 3pm.
A major search and rescue operation was launched after it was feared two further people had been on board the capsized boat and were still missing.
Lifeboats from Lowestoft and Gorleston, coastguard rescue teams from Lowestoft and Southwold and the RAF search and rescue helicopter from Wattisham are continuing the search this morning.
