A WOMAN has been arrested after an alleged attempted armed robbery at a garage in Lowestoft.
Last night at around 9.25pm police officers were called to an incident at the Mill Road service station.
Two members of staff were at the premises when someone entered the store, approached them, threatened them with a knife and demanded they hand over money.
Quick-thinking staff managed to raise the alarm and the would-be thief fled empty handed.
Police officers arrested a 39-year-old woman nearby shortly after the incident.
She is currently in custody at Lowestoft Police Station where detectives are waiting to quiz her.
A Suffolk police spokeswoman has appealed for anyone who was in the area and may have information to get in contact.
She said anyone who saw the incident or the offender should call DC 703 Quantrill at Lowestoft CID on 01986 835300.
