A speedboat which ran aground on a mud plain caused the owners to be stranded for hours.
Thames Coastguard got the call at about 9.30pm to the River Blackwater near Maldon, Essex.
A coastguard spokesman said: “An 18-foot speed boat was stuck on the mud. The two people on board were unable to get off.
“The West Mersea Lifeboat was tasked to the incident. The people had been stuck for a couple of hours.”
He added that none of the people had been hurt in the incident.
