MALDON: A house was left severely damaged by fire after flames tore through the ground floor.
The blaze started in Highlands Drive, Maldon, shortly before 4.45pm.
Two Maldon fire crews were sent to the scene and used breathing gear and four hoses to bring the flames under control.
The ground floor was badly damaged and left heavily smoke logged by the fire.
