A male victim was reportedly attacked by up to six assailants who stole cash in Bury St Edmunds yesterday evening.
The incident happened around 10pm in Short Brackland in the town centre and the road was closed for around an hour.
St Edmundsbury police tweeted: “Police currently on scene at Short Brackland, BuryStEdmunds, after a robbery has occurred with up to six suspects attacking male victim and taking cash.
“Short Brackland remains closed at this time.”
The force later tweeted that the road had reopened and the victim was being looked after by officers while investigations continue.
