Police are appealing for witnesses following a stabbing in Chelmsford in the early hours of yesterday morning.

Officers were called to Springfield Road shortly before 2.30am on August 19, having received reports that a 25-year-old man had been stabbed multiple times while at a nearby taxi rank.

Five men dressed in dark-coloured clothing approached the victim from the area of High Bridge Road before attacking him and making off in the same direction.

The victim sustained a number of injuries but police say they are not life-threatening or life-changing.
