A man has admitted kidnap, rape and abduction in connection with an incident involving a 17-year-old girl in Clacton on March 1.

Daniel Bramman appeared at Chelmsford Crown Court today. The 35-year-old man, who is of no fixed address, pleaded guilty to the three offences but pleaded not guilty to actual bodily harm and another rape offence and this was accepted by the prosecution.

He is due to be sentenced the week commencing August 23 at Chelmsford Crown Court.

Detectives from the major investigation team who investigated the crimes committed by Bramman said they were pleased that he pleaded guilty and saved his victim the trauma of giving evidence at court.

A full statement will be made upon sentencing.
