A man has been airlifted to hospital with life-threatening injuries after being involved in an incident with a forklift.

Emergency services were called to Whapload Road in Lowestoft at 10.34am today (Friday, December 29).

The man, believed to be in his 30s, had been involved in an incident with a forklift which resulted in him being reportedly trapped against a wall.

An ambulance, ambulance officer, the East Anglian Air Ambulance helicopter and Suffolk Accident Rescue Service volunteer doctor vehicle attended.

A spokesman from the East of England Ambulance Service said: “Critical care and specialist treatment was given to the patient at the scene. He has suffered multiple life-threatening injuries and was airlifted to Addenbrooke’s Hospital in a critical condition.”

A second patient was taken to the James Paget University Hospital in Gorleston to be treated for a suspected arm injury.
