A MAN is in currently in custody on suspicion of kidnap after a stand off in Ipswich town centre today.Part of the Buttermarket was cordoned off and evacuated and armed police were on standby following reports that a woman was being threatened with a knife and was being held against her will in a flat above a building society.
A MAN has been released on bail today following a stand off in Ipswich town centre.
Part of the Buttermarket was cordoned off and evacuated and armed police were on standby following reports that a woman was being threatened with a knife and was being held against her will in a flat above a building society.
A police spokesman said the incident was reported at around 4.30pm yesterday and the man was arrested at around 6.30pm.
The woman was found to have left the flat.
