Detectives investigating the rape of a young woman in Braintree last weekend have arrested a man.
The victim, aged in her 20s, was attacked in the early hours of Sunday, June 10 near to flats on Riverside Place in St John’s Avenue.
A spokesman from Essex Police said a 42-year-old man from Braintree had been arrested on suspicion of rape yesterday.
He remained in custody last night.
