Essex Police said the victim, aged in his 30s and from the town, was assaulted at an address in Jaywick Lane at around 10.30am.

A man sustained injuries to his hand and was taken to hospital for treatment after being attacked with a baseball bat in Clacton this morning.

Essex Police said the victim, aged in his 30s and from the town, was assaulted at an address in Jaywick Lane at around 10.30am.

Detective constable Phil Terry, of Essex Police, said: “It is believed the suspect was travelling in a dark coloured Audi saloon.

“There were a number of people in the area at the time of the attack and I would appeal for anyone who has not contacted us yet to come forward as they might have vital information.”
