A vicious assault in broad daylight has left a man with serious head injuries.
Police have cordoned off an area of Newmarket's cemetery following the attack which happened late this afternoon in the graveyard, which is close to the town's High Street. The victim has been taken to Addenbrooke's Hospital in Cambridge for treatment but detectives said his injuries were not believed to be life threatening.
