A MAN will appear in court today charged with the attempted murder of a 70-year-old woman.
The 67-year-old man from Colchester, has been charged with attempted murder by detectives and will appear at Colchester Magistrates Court today.
Mark Charrot, of Smythies Avenue, Colchester, who is retired, was arrested on Wednesday following an incident at his home address where a 70-year-old woman was found with serious head injuries.
She was taken to hospital and transferred to Queens Hospital in Romford in a critical condition.
