A man has been arrested in connection with a number of burglaries in Essex over the Christmas period.

A man has been arrested in connection with a number of burglaries in Essex over the Christmas period.

A 25-year-old man from Witham was arrested by Essex Police on Saturday December 29 investigating burglaries committed in Braintree on Christmas Day and Boxing Day.

Officers were made aware of burglaries in Dearnery Hill on Christmas Day and another in Romney Close before calls relating to an attempted burglary in Dover Close were reported to them on Boxing Day.

He was arrrested after police investigating the burglaries stopped a vehicle at about 4pm on Saturday, December 29.

A second man, 29, also from Witham, was arrested on Friday December 29 on suspicion of burglary and drugs offences. He was released under investigation.
