A man has died in a crash on the Suffolk-Cambridgeshire border after his car left the road and hit a tree.

Cambridgeshire police were called to the incident at around 9.45am on the A1303 at Bottisham, near Newmarket.

Officers attended the crash, along with fire and ambulance crews, but the motorist was pronounced dead at the scene.

Two crews were called from Suffolk to assist Cambridgeshire Fire Service.

The road is still closed between Bottisham and the A14 while an investigation takes place.

Anyone who saw the collision should call 101 and ask to speak to a member of the road policing unit quoting incident 100 of January 7.
