Police have ruled out any suspicious circumstances surrounding the sudden death of a man, believed to be in his 70s, in Carlton Colville, near Lowestoft.
Officers were called by the ambulance service to an address in Carlton Colville at 11.20pm on Saturday following reports of a man in cardiac arrest.
The man, believed to be in his 70s, was pronounced dead at the house, and a police cordon was put up at the scene.
In a statement on Sunday morning, Suffolk Constabulary said: “Police were called by the East of England Ambulance Service to attend an address in Carlton Colville at approximately 11.20pm last night, (Saturday December 30) following reports of a man in cardiac arrest.
“The man, believed to be in his 70s, was pronounced deceased at the scene.”
Following further enquiries, police said the death was not being treated as suspicious.
A spokesman added: “His death remains unexplained, but following initial police enquires it is not believed to be suspicious.”
A file will now be prepared for the coroner.
