CONCERN is growing for a man who disappeared from hospital in Chelmsford after being diagnosed as having a serious illness.

Essex Police are appealing for help to find the 50-year-old man, who gave the name Steven Collins, and was admitted to Broomfield Hospital in the early hours of Sunday, November 15, after being taken ill in Chelmsford.

He was later taken to a ward and given medication for the illness, but is thought to have left the hospital at about 11am on Sunday morning.

Doctors are concerned for Mr Collin's welfare because he did not take with him any of the prescribed drugs and there are fears that his condition could deteriorate and become life-threatening.

Mr Collins is about 5ft 8ins, of medium build and has short brown hair. He wears glasses and speaks with a Scottish accent. He was last seen wearing a navy jumper and dark-coloured trousers.

His last known address was in Luton, Bedfordshire.

Anyone who has seen him should contact Chelmsford police station on 0300 3334444.
