A man who was involved in an attack which resulted in a Lowestoft man being taken to hospital with serious head injuries has been convicted by a jury.
Before Ipswich Crown Court was Darryl Long, 35, of York Road, Southend-on-Sea who had denied causing David Canty grievous bodily harm with intent in November 2015 and robbing him of a mobile phone.
He was remanded in custody and will be sentenced at a later date.
Also before the court was Christopher Colton, 40, of Dutchmans Court, Lowestoft, who denied causing Mr Canty grievous bodily harm and robbery and was cleared of both offences.
Mr Canty, who had earlier spent several hours drinking with the defendants was robbed of his mobile phone during the incident at his home in Marine Parade.
Peter Gair, prosecuting, said that as a result of the attack Mr Canty suffered multiple facial fractures and swelling to his brain.
He spent four months in hospital and on his release went to a brain injury rehabilitation centre.
