A man in his 60s was taken to hospital in a critical condition after his heart had to be restarted.
The man was reported to have collapsed in Maynewater Lane, Bury St Edmunds around 9.10am today.
The East of England Ambulance Service dispatched two ambulance crews, an ambulance officer, a Suffolk Accident Rescue Service doctor and the East Anglian Air Ambulance to the scene.
The man was said to be unconscious and not breathing when crews arrived but after treatment at the scene his heart was restarted.
He was then taken to West Suffolk Hospital by land ambulance in a critical condition.
