Man hunt results in arrest after attempted robbery in Warren Heath store

A man brandished a bread knife and demanded money from a shop in the Warren Heath area of Ipswich at around 2.15pm today.

The man’s demands were refused and he left the store - the name of which has not yet been confirmed by police - empty handed.

Staff then reported the incident to police who attended the scene and searched the area, assisted by the police helicopter and dog units.

A man, 42 and of no fixed abode, was detained a short while later. He was arrested on suspicion of attempted robbery and take to Martlesham Police Investigation Centre for questioning.
