POLICE are investigating a possible case of trolley rage after a 55-year-old was injured by a shopping cart at Tesco in Martlesham.

POLICE are investigating a possible case of trolley rage after a 55-year-old was injured by a shopping cart at Tesco in Martlesham.

The man, who did nothing to provoke the incident, sustained pain and bruising to his spine and legs after he was struck by a trolley while shopping at the Anson Road store around 1pm to 1.15pm on Saturday.

The 55-year-old was in the clothing section of the store when someone pushed the trolley into the back of his legs.

He fell to the floor. Other shoppers came to his assistance before the injured man was taken to Ipswich Hospital for treatment.

Officers investigating the case are keen to trace a man described white, in his late 20s to early 30s, rough looking, with short cropped hair and wearing a green fleece who was seen walking out of the store just after a crashing sound was heard.
