A MAN has appeared in court today accused of murdering his father and was remanded to prison.
A MAN has appeared in court today accused of murdering his father and was remanded to prison.
Michael Leahy, 34, appeared before Colchester Magistrates' Court accused of the killing of his father, Liam Leahy, 56.
Mr Leahy senior's body was found in a flat in Military Road, Colchester, by ambulance crews at about 2am on Friday.
A post mortem examination found he had died of head, neck and facial injuries.
His son, of no fixed abode, entered no plea to the murder charge during the hearing and was remanded in custody.
He will appear again at Chelmsford Crown Court on November 24.
