Three fire crews tackled a bungalow fire in Essex this morning.

Two appliances from Clacton and one from Weeley were sent to the scene in The Drive, Clacton around 10.30am today.

The officer in charge reported the roof of the semi-detached property was 100% alight.

At one stage it was thought one person was unaccounted for and a thermal image camera was used along with two hose reel jets to combat the blaze.

However shortly after 11am Essex County Fire and Rescue Service said all people had been accounted for and the owner, believed to be in his 80s, was in the care of the ambulance service.
