An elderly man in his 70s was taken to hospital after falling out of a mobility scooter today (January 18).

Police and paramedics were called to Needham Market around 11am and the high street was blocked.

A road block was put in place while police dealt with the incident.

A spokeswoman from Suffolk Constabulary said the man, in his 70s, had some bleeding but was talking to police and ambulance crews. The road was reopened at 11.45am.

She said paramedics did not believe the man had “life-changing injuries” but he was taken to hospital as a precaution.
