A man was taken to hospital suffering from a cut to the head and possible fractures after his car overturned on the A12 this morning.

It is believed the man, who is being treated at Ipswich Hospital, suffered a possible fracture to his shoulder, hand and arm.

The accident blocked the A12 northbound between Woodbridge and Wickham Market for around an hour.

The road has since cleared.

A police spokesman said: “We received a call at 8.17am to reports of a car on its roof between Wickham Market and Woodbridge near the Bredfield off slip. Lane one of the northbound road was totally blocked but is now passable.

“A male occupant of the car, believed to be in his late teens, suffered a cut to the head and has now been freed. Officers at the scene said the person is conscious and breathing.

“Concrete and kerbstones were all over the road but this has now been cleared.”
