AN INVESTIGATION has been launched after a man lost his leg after an accident at Felixstowe port.
Tugboat captain Geoff Bull, who works for Svitzer Towage, had to have his lower leg amputated after he became trapped between the vessel Haven Harrier and a pontoon at Felixstowe on Thursday.
Mr Bull, who is believed to be aged in his 40s and from Harwich, remains in Ipswich Hospital.
James Curry, managing director of Svitzer Towage, said he could not comment while a Marine Accident and Investigation Branch (MAIB) investigation was ongoing.
The MAIB confirmed an investigation was in its preliminary stages.
