Detectives investigating the murder of a man in Clacton have named the victim as 54-year-old James Gregoire.
Mr Gregoire died after being stabbed at Rosemary Road at about 11.45pm on Monday.
A post mortem examination has revealed that Mr Gregoire died from several stab wounds from a knife to the upper body.
A 21-year-old man who was arrested at Clacton on Tuesday on suspicion of murder remains in hospital receiving treatment and is awaiting questioning.
The second victim injured in the attack, who was also taken to hospital, was discharged.
