A man was rescued from the river today after being spotted in the water by members of the public.
Police were called to the banks of the river off Princes Street, in Ipswich, from where a number of people had seen a man in the water at around 4.45pm.
Officers arrived to find a man in the river but were able to pull him to safety.
He is currently in a critical condition at Ipswich Hospital.
