A MAN was shot after answering his door to two men.
Detectives in Cambridgeshire are appealing for the public’s help following the shooting in Godmanchester which happened at around 9.30pm.
The two men knocked at the property in Anderson Court and the victim, a 41-year-old man from Godmanchester, answered and was shot by the men who ran off towards Meadow Lane.
The man was taken to hospital with a single wound described as serious but not life threatening. He remains in a stable condition.
Det Insp Mike Branston, investigating, said: “I would like to hear from anyone who saw these men in the moments leading up to the shooting and as they left the scene.
“Investigations are under way to trace them and we are treating this as an isolated incident.
“Thankfully these types of incidents are rare. However, we are treating this crime extremely seriously.”
