A 20-year-old man suffered a fractured eye socket after allegedly being punched in the face during an argument near a bar in Chelmsford.

The alleged assault happened between 2.30am and 3am on Thursday in Springfield Road close to the Missoula bar.

Police have published a picture of a man they want to speak to in connection with the assault.

Pc Karyn Daniels said: “The man in this picture has been identified as a possible suspect in this assault and we need to interview him urgently.

“If anyone knows who he is then I would ask them to contact me at Chelmsford Police Station on 101.

“Alternatively I would urge the man to come forward and speak to us himself.”
