A Suffolk runner is hoping to ‘smash’ the £7,000 he raised at this year’s London Marathon when he takes on the 26.2-mile challenge again next April.
Tony Moorcroft, from Woodbridge, who organised a one-day music festival at The Tea Hut before his run in aid of St Nicholas Hospice, plans to repeat the event to boost fundraising for Alzheimer’s Research UK.
Last year, Mr Moorcroft’s father, Austin, was diagnosed with the disease at 84.
“This year, with the support of many friends, I’m determined to smash this target to help those affected by the disease,” said Mr Morrcroft, who has enlisted local musicians and DJs for another festival at The Tea Hut on Saturday, March 31.
Last year’s event drew more than 300 people, and the next is set to be ‘bigger and better’, according to Mr Moorcroft, who hinted at other surprises in his quest to beat the target.
