A SUFFOLK soldier has been handed a community order and a 1,000 fine after being found guilty of exposing himself to a woman at a Martlesham picnic site.

Vincent Lunn, a corporal based with 23 Engineer Regiment at Rock Barracks, near Woodbridge, had denied five charges of indecent exposure and was found guilty of one of the charges after a week-long trial at Ipswich Crown Court.

He was handed a 1,000 fine and ordered to complete 80 hours of unpaid work.

In a statement read during the trial, the victim of the Martlesham incident on June 3 last year described seeing a man standing next to his car “flashing” at her.

Judge David Goodin said Lunn could also be subject to action by the Army.

Lunn, 43, was found not guilty of three offences of indecent exposure and the jury was discharged on the remaining charge after failing to reach a verdict.
