A pet cat has been found with 16 pellets embedded in its body.
The cat’s owner arrived at her Melton Grange Road home yesterday afternoon to find the cat in the garden and not wanting its food. On closer inspection the owner realised there was something wrong and took her pet to the vet where 16 pellets were found inside the animal.
Police believe the pellets are from a single shotgun cartridge.
The cat has received treatment from the vet and is now back at home with its owner, and it is hoped the it should make a recovery.
