A memorial board commemorating players, managers, officials and volunteers at AFC Sudbury who have died has been unveiled at the football club.

The board will be placed in the reception at the Wardale Williams stadium and will honour those who have served the non-league club in some capacity.

A statement on the club’s website said it was “proud” to put the memorial board up and gave thanks to one of their vice-presidents Stewart Skinner who was behind the project.

Relatives of AFC Sudbury volunteer Chris Olley, who lost his battle with motor neurone disease in 2012 and is named on the new board, visited the club to see the memorial.

Chris was a staunch supporter and sold advertising and sponsorship as a volunteer from 2007 up to his death five years ago.

The club has asked anyone aware of someone who should be honoured on the board to contact them on 01787 376312.
