A DIABETIC man and his son were treated for the affects of cold today after narrowly avoiding disaster on the River Orwell.
Coastguards said they were called just after 9am to a boat moored near Freston where the men were suffering from cold and shock.
The men had been making their way to their cabin cruiser when the dinghy in which they were travelling deflated.
The 65-year-old father and his son managed to reach their cruiser, but required treatment by an ambulance crew.
