pupils have been learning the importance of road safety after actors played out a live demonstration of an accident.

Mendlesham Community Primary School was the scene of an “accident” last Friday as a car collided with a cyclist.

All 60 children listened and learned about what to do in an emergency.

Headteacher Claire Jones said: “We had a question and answer session with the children about how to stay safe on the road and what the cyclist could have done – wearing a helmet, paying attention – and also what the driver could have done.

“We talked about drinking and driving. It had a lot of impact.”
