MENTAL health professionals are today concerned after a patient went missing from St. Clements Hospital.

Doctors and nurses have expressed concern about the welfare of John Evans who left the hospital on the afternoon of Friday, July 31 and has not returned.

The 41-year-old is described as white, of slim build and average height with short brown hair.

He was an informal patient at St Clements and he is thought to have contacts in the Martlesham, Kesgrave area.

Medical staff are concerned Mr Evans may not be able to care for himself and are appealing for anyone who thinks they have seen him, or know where he is, to contact the police so that he can receive the support he requires.

It is important to trace John Evans and staff are asking him or anyone who sees him or knows of his whereabouts to contact the Duty Inspector at Ipswich Police Station on 01473 613500 without delay.
