The West Mersea lifeboat came to the rescue of a drifting speedboat off Bradwell.
The RNLI crew was called at 2.07pm yesterday afternoon to the 17ft speedboat with two people on board.
The lifeboat towed the stricken vessel to Stone Sailing Club.
